Tindakan-tindakan untuk melindungi kota 7:1 Setelah tembok selesai dibangun, aku memasang pintu-pintu. Lalu diangkatlah penunggu-penunggu pintu gerbang, para penyanyi dan orang-orang Lewi. 7:2 Pengawasan atas Yerusalem aku serahkan kepada Hanani, saudaraku, dan kepada Hananya, panglima benteng, karena dia seorang yang dapat dipercaya dan yang takut akan Allah lebih dari pada orang-orang lain. 7:3 Berkatalah aku kepada mereka: "Pintu-pintu gerbang Yerusalem jangan dibuka sampai matahari panas terik. Dan pintu-pintunya harus ditutup dan dipalangi, sementara orang masih bertugas di tempatnya. Tempatkanlah penjaga-penjaga dari antara penduduk Yerusalem, masing-masing pada tempat-tempat penjagaan dan di depan rumahnya." Daftar orang-orang yang kembali dari pembuangan 7:4 Adapun kota itu luas dan besar, tetapi penduduknya sedikit dan rumah-rumah belum dibangun. 7:5 Maka Allahku memberikan dalam hatiku rencana untuk mengumpulkan para pemuka, para penguasa dan rakyat, supaya mereka dicatat dalam silsilah. Lalu kudapati daftar silsilah orang-orang yang lebih dahulu berangkat pulang. Dalam daftar itu kudapati tertulis: 7:6 Inilah orang-orang propinsi Yehuda yang berangkat pulang dari pembuangan, yakni para tawanan, yang dahulu diangkut oleh Nebukadnezar, raja Babel, dan yang kembali ke Yerusalem dan ke Yehuda, masing-masing ke kotanya. 7:7 Mereka datang bersama-sama Zerubabel, Yesua, Nehemia, Azarya, Raamya, Nahamani, Mordekhai, Bilsan, Misperet, Bigwai, Nehum dan Baana. Inilah daftar orang-orang bangsa Israel: 7:8 bani Paros: dua ribu seratus tujuh puluh dua orang; 7:9 bani Sefaca: tiga ratus tujuh puluh dua orang; 7:10 bani Arakh: enam ratus lima puluh dua orang; 7:11 bani Pahat-Moab, yakni bani Yesua dan Yoab: dua ribu delapan ratus delapan belas orang; 7:12 bani Elam: seribu dua ratus lima puluh empat orang; 7:13 bani Zatu: delapan ratus empat puluh lima orang; 7:14 bani Zakai: tujuh ratus enam puluh orang; 7:15 bani Binui: enam ratus empat puluh delapan orang; 7:16 bani Bebai: enam ratus dua puluh delapan orang; 7:17 bani Azgad: dua ribu tiga ratus dua puluh dua orang; 7:18 bani Adonikam: enam ratus enam puluh tujuh orang; 7:19 bani Bigwai: dua ribu enam puluh tujuh orang; 7:20 bani Adin: enam ratus lima puluh lima orang; 7:21 bani Ater, yakni bani Hizkia: sembilan puluh delapan orang; 7:22 bani Hasum: tiga ratus dua puluh delapan orang; 7:23 bani Bezai: tiga ratus dua puluh empat orang; 7:24 bani Harif: seratus dua belas orang; 7:25 bani Gibeon: sembilan puluh lima orang; 7:26 orang-orang Betlehem dan Netofa: seratus delapan puluh delapan orang; 7:27 orang-orang Anatot: seratus dua puluh delapan orang; 7:28 orang-orang Bet-Azmawet: empat puluh dua orang; 7:29 orang-orang Kiryat-Yearim, Kefira dan Beerot: tujuh ratus empat puluh tiga orang; 7:30 orang-orang Rama dan Gaba: enam ratus dua puluh satu orang; 7:31 orang-orang Mikhmas: seratus dua puluh dua orang; 7:32 orang-orang Betel dan Ai: seratus dua puluh tiga orang; 7:33 orang-orang dari Nebo yang lain: lima puluh dua orang; 7:34 bani Elam, yakni Elam yang lain: seribu dua ratus lima puluh empat orang; 7:35 bani Harim: tiga ratus dua puluh orang; 7:36 orang-orang Yerikho: tiga ratus empat puluh lima orang; 7:37 orang-orang Lod, Hadid dan Ono: tujuh ratus dua puluh satu orang; 7:38 bani Senaa: tiga ribu sembilan ratus tiga puluh orang. 7:39 Inilah para imam: bani Yedaya, yakni kaum keluarga Yesua: sembilan ratus tujuh puluh tiga orang; 7:40 bani Imer: seribu lima puluh dua orang; 7:41 bani Pasyhur: seribu dua ratus empat puluh tujuh orang; 7:42 bani Harim: seribu tujuh belas orang. 7:43 Inilah orang-orang Lewi: bani Yesua, yakni bani Kadmiel dan bani Hodewa; tujuh puluh empat orang. 7:44 Inilah para penyanyi: bani Asaf: seratus empat puluh delapan orang. 7:45 Inilah para penunggu pintu gerbang: bani Salum, bani Ater, bani Talmon, bani Akub, bani Hatita, bani Sobai: seratus tiga puluh delapan orang. 7:46 Inilah para budak di bait Allah: bani Ziha, bani Hasufa, bani Tabaot; 7:47 bani Keros, bani Sia, bani Padon; 7:48 bani Lebana, bani Hagaba, bani Salmai; 7:49 bani Hanan, bani Gidel, bani Gahar; 7:50 bani Reaya, bani Rezin, bani Nekoda; 7:51 bani Gazam, bani Uza, bani Paseah; 7:52 bani Besai, bani Meunim, bani Nefusim; 7:53 bani Bakbuk, bani Hakufa, bani Harhur; 7:54 bani Bazlit, bani Mehida, bani Harsa; 7:55 bani Barkos, bani Sisera, bani Temah; 7:56 bani Neziah, bani Hatifa. 7:57 Inilah keturunan para hamba Salomo: bani Sotai, bani Soferet, bani Perida; 7:58 bani Yaala, bani Darkon, bani Gidel; 7:59 bani Sefaca, bani Hatil, bani Pokheret-Hazebaim, bani Amon. 7:60 Seluruh budak di bait Allah dan keturunan para hamba Salomo ada tiga ratus sembilan puluh dua orang. 7:61 Inilah orang-orang yang berangkat pulang dari Tel-Melah, Tel-Harsa, Kerub, Adon dan Imer, tetapi mereka tidak dapat menyatakan apakah kaum keluarga dan asal-usul mereka termasuk bangsa Israel: 7:62 bani Delaya, bani Tobia, bani Nekoda: enam ratus empat puluh dua orang; 7:63 dan dari antara para imam: bani Habaya, bani Hakos, bani Barzilai. Barzilai itu memperisteri seorang anak perempuan Barzilai, orang Gilead itu, dan sejak itu ia dinamai menurut nama keluarga itu. 7:64 Mereka itu menyelidiki apakah nama mereka tercatat dalam silsilah, tetapi karena itu tidak didapati, maka mereka dinyatakan tidak tahir untuk jabatan imam. 7:65 Dan tentang mereka diputuskan oleh kepala daerah, bahwa mereka tidak boleh makan dari persembahan maha kudus, sampai ada seorang imam bertindak dengan memegang Urim dan Tumim. 7:66 Seluruh jemaah itu bersama-sama ada empat puluh dua ribu tiga ratus enam puluh orang, 7:67 selain dari budak mereka laki-laki dan perempuan yang berjumlah tujuh ribu tiga ratus tiga puluh tujuh orang. Pada mereka ada dua ratus empat puluh lima penyanyi laki-laki dan perempuan. 7:68 Mereka mempunyai tujuh ratus tiga puluh enam ekor kuda, dua ratus empat puluh lima ekor bagal, 7:69 empat ratus tiga puluh lima ekor unta dan enam ribu tujuh ratus dua puluh ekor keledai. 7:70 Sebagian dari kepala kaum keluarga memberi sumbangan untuk pekerjaan itu, sedang kepala daerah memberi sumbangan untuk perbendaharaan seribu dirham emas, lima puluh buah bokor penyiraman, dan lima ratus tiga puluh helai kemeja imam. 7:71 Pula beberapa kepala kaum keluarga memberi sumbangan untuk perbendaharaan pekerjaan itu dua puluh ribu dirham emas dan dua ribu dua ratus mina perak. 7:72 Dan yang disumbangkan oleh orang-orang lain adalah: dua puluh ribu dirham emas, dua ribu mina perak dan enam puluh tujuh helai kemeja imam. Pembacaan kitab hukum Hari raya Pondok Daun 7:73 Adapun para imam dan orang-orang Lewi, para penunggu pintu dan para penyanyi, juga sebagian dari rakyat, para budak di bait Allah dan semua orang Israel yang lain menetap di kota-kota mereka. (#8-#1) Ketika tiba bulan yang ketujuh, sedang orang Israel telah menetap di kota-kotanya,

7:1 Then it was, when the wall was built and I had hung the doors, when the gatekeepers, the singers, and the Levites had been appointed, 7:2 that I gave the charge of Jerusalem to my brother Hanani, and Hananiah the leader of the citadel, for he [was] a faithful man and feared God more than many. 7:3 And I said to them, "Do not let the gates of Jerusalem be opened until the sun is hot; and while they stand [guard], let them shut and bar the doors; and appoint guards from among the inhabitants of Jerusalem, one at his watch station and another in front of his own house." 7:4 Now the city [was] large and spacious, but the people in it [were] few, and the houses [were] not rebuilt. 7:5 Then my God put it into my heart to gather the nobles, the rulers, and the people, that they might be registered by genealogy. And I found a register of the genealogy of those who had come up in the first [return], and found written in it: 7:6 These [are] the people of the province who came back from the captivity, of those who had been carried away, whom Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon had carried away, and who returned to Jerusalem and Judah, everyone to his city. 7:7 Those who came with Zerubbabel [were] Jeshua, Nehemiah, Azariah, Raamiah, Nahamani, Mordecai, Bilshan, Mispereth, Bigvai, Nehum, and Baanah. The number of the men of the people of Israel: 7:8 the sons of Parosh, two thousand one hundred and seventytwo; 7:9 the sons of Shephatiah, three hundred and seventytwo; 7:10 the sons of Arah, six hundred and fiftytwo; 7:11 the sons of PahathMoab, of the sons of Jeshua and Joab, two thousand eight hundred and eighteen; 7:12 the sons of Elam, one thousand two hundred and fiftyfour; 7:13 the sons of Zattu, eight hundred and fortyfive; 7:14 the sons of Zaccai, seven hundred and sixty; 7:15 the sons of Binnui, six hundred and fortyeight; 7:16 the sons of Bebai, six hundred and twentyeight; 7:17 the sons of Azgad, two thousand three hundred and twentytwo; 7:18 the sons of Adonikam, six hundred and sixtyseven; 7:19 the sons of Bigvai, two thousand and sixtyseven; 7:20 the sons of Adin, six hundred and fiftyfive; 7:21 the sons of Ater of Hezekiah, ninetyeight; 7:22 the sons of Hashum, three hundred and twentyeight; 7:23 the sons of Bezai, three hundred and twentyfour; 7:24 the sons of Hariph, one hundred and twelve; 7:25 the sons of Gibeon, ninetyfive; 7:26 the men of Bethlehem and Netophah, one hundred and eightyeight; 7:27 the men of Anathoth, one hundred and twentyeight; 7:28 the men of Beth Azmaveth, fortytwo; 7:29 the men of Kirjath Jearim, Chephirah, and Beeroth, seven hundred and fortythree; 7:30 the men of Ramah and Geba, six hundred and twentyone; 7:31 the men of Michmas, one hundred and twentytwo; 7:32 the men of Bethel and Ai, one hundred and twentythree; 7:33 the men of the other Nebo, fiftytwo; 7:34 the sons of the other Elam, one thousand two hundred and fiftyfour; 7:35 the sons of Harim, three hundred and twenty; 7:36 the sons of Jericho, three hundred and fortyfive; 7:37 the sons of Lod, Hadid, and Ono, seven hundred and twentyone; 7:38 the sons of Senaah, three thousand nine hundred and thirty. 7:39 The priests: the sons of Jedaiah, of the house of Jeshua, nine hundred and seventythree; 7:40 the sons of Immer, one thousand and fiftytwo; 7:41 the sons of Pashhur, one thousand two hundred and fortyseven; 7:42 the sons of Harim, one thousand and seventeen. 7:43 The Levites: the sons of Jeshua, of Kadmiel, [and] of the sons of Hodevah, seventyfour. 7:44 The singers: the sons of Asaph, one hundred and fortyeight. 7:45 The gatekeepers: the sons of Shallum, the sons of Ater, the sons of Talmon, the sons of Akkub, the sons of Hatita, the sons of Shobai, one hundred and thirtyeight. 7:46 The Nethinim: the sons of Ziha, the sons of Hasupha, the sons of Tabbaoth, 7:47 the sons of Keros, the sons of Sia, the sons of Padon, 7:48 the sons of Lebana, the sons of Hagaba, the sons of Salmai, 7:49 the sons of Hanan, the sons of Giddel, the sons of Gahar, 7:50 the sons of Reaiah, the sons of Rezin, the sons of Nekoda, 7:51 the sons of Gazzam, the sons of Uzza, the sons of Paseah, 7:52 the sons of Besai, the sons of Meunim, the sons of Nephishesim, 7:53 the sons of Bakbuk, the sons of Hakupha, the sons of Harhur, 7:54 the sons of Bazlith, the sons of Mehida, the sons of Harsha, 7:55 the sons of Barkos, the sons of Sisera, the sons of Tamah, 7:56 the sons of Neziah, and the sons of Hatipha. 7:57 The sons of Solomon's servants: the sons of Sotai, the sons of Sophereth, the sons of Perida, 7:58 the sons of Jaala, the sons of Darkon, the sons of Giddel, 7:59 the sons of Shephatiah, the sons of Hattil, the sons of Pochereth of Zebaim, and the sons of Amon. 7:60 All the Nethinim, and the sons of Solomon's servants, [were] three hundred and ninetytwo. 7:61 And these [were] the ones who came up from Tel Melah, Tel Harsha, Cherub, Addon, and Immer, but they could not identify their father's house nor their lineage, whether they [were] of Israel: 7:62 the sons of Delaiah, the sons of Tobiah, the sons of Nekoda, six hundred and fortytwo; 7:63 and of the priests: the sons of Habaiah, the sons of Koz, the sons of Barzillai, who took a wife of the daughters of Barzillai the Gileadite, and was called by their name. 7:64 These sought their listing [among] those who were registered by genealogy, but it was not found; therefore they were excluded from the priesthood as defiled. 7:65 And the governor said to them that they should not eat of the most holy things till a priest could consult with the Urim and Thummim. 7:66 Altogether the whole assembly [was] fortytwo thousand three hundred and sixty, 7:67 besides their male and female servants, of whom [there were] seven thousand three hundred and thirtyseven; and they had two hundred and fortyfive men and women singers. 7:68 Their horses were seven hundred and thirtysix, their mules two hundred and fortyfive, 7:69 [their] camels four hundred and thirtyfive, [and] donkeys six thousand seven hundred and twenty. 7:70 And some of the heads of the fathers' [houses] gave to the work. The governor gave to the treasury one thousand gold drachmas, fifty basins, and five hundred and thirty priestly garments. 7:71 Some of the heads of the fathers' [houses] gave to the treasury of the work twenty thousand gold drachmas, and two thousand two hundred silver minas. 7:72 And that which the rest of the people gave [was] twenty thousand gold drachmas, two thousand silver minas, and sixtyseven priestly garments. 7:73 So the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, [some] of the people, the Nethinim, and all Israel dwelt in their cities. When the seventh month came, the children of Israel [were] in their cities.
