2 Tawarikh 19

Pelihat Yehu menegor raja Yosafat 19:1 Yosafat, raja Yehuda, pulang dengan selamat ke istananya di Yerusalem. 19:2 Ketika itu Yehu bin Hanani, pelihat itu, pergi menemuinya dan berkata kepada raja Yosafat: "Sewajarnyakah engkau menolong orang fasik dan bersahabat dengan mereka yang membenci TUHAN? Karena hal itu TUHAN murka terhadap engkau. 19:3 Namun masih terdapat hal-hal yang baik padamu, karena engkau menghapuskan tiang-tiang berhala dari negeri ini dan mencari Allah dengan tekun." Yosafat mengangkat hakim-hakim 19:4 Yosafat diam di Yerusalem. Ia mengadakan kunjungan pula ke daerah-daerah, dari Bersyeba sampai ke pegunungan Efraim, sambil menyuruh rakyat berbalik kepada TUHAN, Allah nenek moyang mereka. 19:5 Ia mengangkat juga hakim-hakim di seluruh negeri, yakni di semua kota yang berkubu di Yehuda, di tiap-tiap kota. 19:6 Berpesanlah ia kepada hakim-hakim itu: "Pertimbangkanlah apa yang kamu buat, karena bukanlah untuk manusia kamu memutuskan hukum, melainkan untuk TUHAN, yang ada beserta kamu, bila kamu memutuskan hukum. 19:7 Sebab itu, kiranya kamu diliputi oleh rasa takut kepada TUHAN. Bertindaklah dengan seksama, karena berlaku curang, memihak ataupun menerima suap tidak ada pada TUHAN, Allah kita." 19:8 Juga di Yerusalem Yosafat mengangkat beberapa orang dari antara orang Lewi, dari antara para imam dan dari antara para kepala puak Israel untuk memberi keputusan dalam hal hukum TUHAN dan dalam hal perselisihan. Mereka berkedudukan di Yerusalem. 19:9 Ia memerintahkan mereka: "Kamu harus bertindak dengan takut akan TUHAN, dengan setia dan dengan tulus hati, demikian: 19:10 Dalam setiap perkara, yang disampaikan kepada kamu oleh rekan-rekanmu yang tinggal di kota-kota, yakni perkara-perkara mengenai penumpahan darah atau mengenai hukum, perintah, ketetapan-ketetapan dan peraturan-peraturan hendaklah kamu memperingatkan mereka, supaya mereka jangan bersalah terhadap TUHAN, sehingga murka-Nya menimpa kamu dan rekan-rekanmu. Hendaklah kamu berbuat demikian, dan kamu tidak akan bersalah. 19:11 Dengan ini imam kepala Amarya diangkat sebagai ketuamu dalam segala perkara ketuhanan dan Zebaja bin Ismael, pemuka kaum Yehuda, dalam segala perkara kerajaan, sedang orang Lewi akan melayani kamu sebagai pengatur. Bertindaklah dengan tegas! Kiranya TUHAN menyertai orang yang tulus ikhlas."

19:1 Then Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned safely to his house in Jerusalem.
19:2 And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to King Jehoshaphat, "Should you help the wicked and love those who hate the LORD? Therefore the wrath of the LORD [is] upon you.
19:3 "Nevertheless good things are found in you, in that you have removed the wooden images from the land, and have prepared your heart to seek God."
19:4 So Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem; and he went out again among the people from Beersheba to the mountains of Ephraim, and brought them back to the LORD God of their fathers.
19:5 Then he set judges in the land throughout all the fortified cities of Judah, city by city,
19:6 and said to the judges, "Take heed to what you are doing, for you do not judge for man but for the LORD, who [is] with you in the judgment.
19:7 "Now therefore, let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take care and do [it], for [there is] no iniquity with the LORD our God, no partiality, nor taking of bribes."
19:8 Moreover in Jerusalem, for the judgment of the LORD and for controversies, Jehoshaphat appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the chief fathers of Israel, when they returned to Jerusalem.
19:9 And he commanded them, saying, "Thus you shall act in the fear of the LORD, faithfully and with a loyal heart:
19:10 "Whatever case comes to you from your brethren who dwell in their cities, whether of bloodshed or offenses against law or commandment, against statutes or ordinances, you shall warn them, lest they trespass against the LORD and wrath come upon you and your brethren. Do this, and you will not be guilty.
19:11 "And take notice: Amariah the chief priest [is] over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters; also the Levites [will be] officials before you. Behave courageously, and the LORD will be with the good."
