Isaiah 30

Perjanjian yang Sia-Sia dengan Mesir
1TUHAN berfirman, “Malanglah mereka yang memerintah Yehuda, kerana mereka memberontak terhadap Aku. Mereka melaksanakan rancangan-rancangan yang bukan rancangan-Ku, dan mengikat perjanjian yang menentang kehendak-Ku. Maka bertimbun-timbunlah dosa mereka. 2Mereka minta tolong daripada Mesir tanpa mohon nasihat-Ku. Mereka bernaung di bawah kerajaan Mesir. Oleh itu, mereka mengharapkan perlindungan daripada raja Mesir. 3Tetapi raja Mesir tidak berdaya menolong mereka, dan perlindungan yang diharapkan daripada Mesir akan menjadi sia-sia. 4Walaupun duta-duta Yehuda telah tiba di Zoan dan Hanes, kota-kota Mesir, 5namun penduduk Yehuda akan menyesal kerana bersandar kepada bangsa yang tidak boleh diharap, bangsa yang mengecewakan mereka pada masa mereka memerlukan pertolongan.”
6Demikianlah perkhabaran Allah tentang binatang di gurun sebelah selatan, “Duta-duta berjalan melalui negeri yang berbahaya, yang didiami oleh singa, ular berbisa, dan naga yang boleh terbang. Mereka memuati keldai dan unta dengan hadiah yang mahal-mahal untuk bangsa yang tidak dapat menolong mereka. 7Pertolongan yang diberikan oleh Mesir itu sia-sia. Oleh itu Aku menyebut Mesir, ‘Naga yang tidak berbahaya.’ ”
Umat yang Tidak Taat
8Allah menyuruh aku mencatat kejahatan umat ini di dalam sebuah kitab, sebagai peringatan untuk selama-lamanya. 9Mereka sentiasa memberontak terhadap Allah, sentiasa berdusta, dan enggan menurut ajaran-ajaran TUHAN. 10Mereka menyuruh para nabi menutup mulut. Mereka berkata, “Jangan katakan hal yang benar kepada kami, tetapi katakan hal yang ingin kami dengar. Biarlah kami berkhayal. 11Ke tepi! Jangan halangi kami. Kami tidak mahu mendengar tentang Allah Israel, Allah kamu yang suci.”
12Tetapi inilah firman Allah Israel, Allah yang suci, “Kamu tidak menghirau firman-Ku dan kamu bergantung kepada kekerasan serta penipuan. 13Kamu bersalah. Kamu seperti tembok tinggi yang retak dari atas sampai ke bawah. Dengan tiba-tiba kamu akan roboh. 14Kamu akan hancur seperti belanga, dan begitu luluh sehingga tiada bahagian yang dapat digunakan untuk mengambil bara, atau untuk mencedok air dari tempayan.”
15TUHAN Raja, Allah Israel, Allah yang suci, berfirman kepada umat-Nya, “Kembalilah kepada-Ku dan percayalah kepada-Ku dengan hati yang tenteram. Maka kamu akan Kukuatkan dan Kuselamatkan.” Tetapi kamu tidak mahu. 16Sebaliknya kamu merancang untuk lari daripada musuh dengan menunggang kuda yang laju. Memang kamu perlu lari! Pada sangka kamu kuda kamu cukup laju, tetapi pengejar-pengejar kamu lebih cepat! 17Seribu orang akan lari apabila melihat seorang musuh, dan lima orang musuh cukup untuk menyebabkan kamu semua lari. Tentera kamu akan lenyap, dan yang tinggal hanya sebatang tiang bendera di atas bukit. 18Namun TUHAN menanti-nantikan saatnya untuk menunjukkan belas kasihan-Nya kepada kamu. Dia mengasihani kamu kerana Dia Allah yang sentiasa berbuat adil. Berbahagialah mereka yang berharap kepada TUHAN.
Allah Akan Memberkati Umat-Nya
19Kamu yang tinggal di Yerusalem tidak akan menangis lagi. TUHAN berbelas kasihan. Manakala kamu berseru minta tolong kepada-Nya, Dia akan menjawab. 20Tuhan akan memberi kamu cubaan yang berat, tetapi Dia sendiri akan menyertai kamu dan mengajar kamu. Kamu tidak perlu mencari-cari Dia lagi. 21Jika kamu menyimpang ke kanan atau ke kiri, kamu akan mendengar suara-Nya di belakang kamu berfirman, “Inilah jalannya, ikutlah jalan ini!” 22Kamu akan mengambil patung-patung berhala kamu yang disadur dengan perak dan emas, lalu membuangnya seperti kotoran. Kamu akan berkata kepadanya, “Pergilah daripadaku!” 23Ketika kamu menabur benih, TUHAN akan menurunkan hujan supaya benih itu tumbuh. Dia akan memberi kamu hasil yang banyak, dan bagi ternak kamu akan tersedia padang rumput yang luas. 24Lembu dan keldai yang membajak tanah kamu akan mendapat makanan yang terbaik. 25Kubu-kubu musuh kamu akan roboh, dan mereka akan dibunuh. Pada hari itu anak-anak sungai akan mengalir dari tiap-tiap gunung dan bukit. 26Bulan akan bersinar seterang matahari, dan matahari akan bersinar tujuh kali lebih terang daripada biasa, seperti cahaya matahari selama tujuh hari dipancarkan sekaligus. Semua itu akan berlaku apabila TUHAN membalut dan menyembuhkan luka-luka umat-Nya yang telah didera-Nya.
Allah Akan Menghukum Asyur
27Kuasa dan kemuliaan TUHAN terlihat dari jauh. Api dan asap menunjukkan kemurkaan-Nya. Apabila Dia berfirman, firman-Nya membakar seperti api. 28Dia mengutus angin di hadapan-Nya seperti air bah setinggi leher yang menghanyutkan segala sesuatu. Angin itu memusnahkan bangsa-bangsa, dan mengakhiri rancangan-rancangan jahat mereka. 29Tetapi kamu, hai umat Allah, akan bersukacita dan bernyanyi seperti pada malam perayaan agama! Kamu akan bersukacita seperti mereka yang berjalan dengan iringan seruling menuju ke Rumah TUHAN, Pembela Israel.
30TUHAN akan memperdengar suara-Nya yang agung itu, dan setiap orang akan merasai kemurkaan-Nya yang menyala-nyala. Kemurkaan-Nya akan mendatangkan api yang menghanguskan, ribut, hujan batu, dan hujan lebat. 31Orang Asyur akan ketakutan apabila mendengar suara TUHAN, dan merasai hukuman-Nya yang berat. 32Sedang TUHAN berulang-ulang memukul mereka, umat-Nya akan menari mengikut rentak tamburin dan kecapi. Allah sendiri akan berperang melawan orang Asyur. 33Sejak dahulu telah disediakan api yang besar untuk membakar raja Asyur. Tempat itu dalam dan lebar serta berisi kayu api yang bertimbun-timbun. TUHAN akan menyalakan kayu itu dengan hembusan nafas-Nya.

30:1 "Woe to the rebellious children," says the LORD, "Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin;
30:2 Who walk to go down to Egypt, And have not asked My advice, To strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, And to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
30:3 Therefore the strength of Pharaoh Shall be your shame, And trust in the shadow of Egypt Shall be [your] humiliation.
30:4 For his princes were at Zoan, And his ambassadors came to Hanes.
30:5 They were all ashamed of a people [who] could not benefit them, Or be help or benefit, But a shame and also a reproach."
30:6 The burden against the beasts of the South. Through a land of trouble and anguish, From which [came] the lioness and lion, The viper and fiery flying serpent, They will carry their riches on the backs of young donkeys, And their treasures on the humps of camels, To a people [who] shall not profit;
30:7 For the Egyptians shall help in vain and to no purpose. Therefore I have called her RahabHemShebeth.
30:8 Now go, write it before them on a tablet, And note it on a scroll, That it may be for time to come, Forever and ever:
30:9 That this [is] a rebellious people, Lying children, Children [who] will not hear the law of the LORD;
30:10 Who say to the seers, "Do not see," And to the prophets, "Do not prophesy to us right things; Speak to us smooth things, prophesy deceits.
30:11 Get out of the way, Turn aside from the path, Cause the Holy One of Israel To cease from before us."
30:12 Therefore thus says the Holy One of Israel: "Because you despise this word, And trust in oppression and perversity, And rely on them,
30:13 Therefore this iniquity shall be to you Like a breach ready to fall, A bulge in a high wall, Whose breaking comes suddenly, in an instant.
30:14 And He shall break it like the breaking of the potter's vessel, Which is broken in pieces; He shall not spare. So there shall not be found among its fragments A shard to take fire from the hearth, Or to take water from the cistern."
30:15 For thus says the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel: "In returning and rest you shall be saved; In quietness and confidence shall be your strength." But you would not,
30:16 And you said, "No, for we will flee on horses" Therefore you shall flee! And, "We will ride on swift [horses]" Therefore those who pursue you shall be swift!
30:17 One thousand [shall flee] at the threat of one, At the threat of five you shall flee, Till you are left as a pole on top of a mountain And as a banner on a hill.
30:18 Therefore the LORD will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the LORD [is] a God of justice; Blessed [are] all those who wait for Him.
30:19 For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem; You shall weep no more. He will be very gracious to you at the sound of your cry; When He hears it, He will answer you.
30:20 And [though] the Lord gives you The bread of adversity and the water of affliction, Yet your teachers will not be moved into a corner anymore, But your eyes shall see your teachers.
30:21 Your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, "This [is] the way, walk in it," Whenever you turn to the right hand Or whenever you turn to the left.
30:22 You will also defile the covering of your graven images of silver, And the ornament of your molded images of gold. You will throw them away as an unclean thing; You will say to them, "Get away!"
30:23 Then He will give the rain for your seed With which you sow the ground, And bread of the increase of the earth; It will be fat and plentiful. In that day your cattle will feed In large pastures.
30:24 Likewise the oxen and the young donkeys that work the ground Will eat cured fodder, Which has been winnowed with the shovel and fan.
30:25 There will be on every high mountain And on every high hill Rivers [and] streams of waters, In the day of the great slaughter, When the towers fall.
30:26 Moreover the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun, And the light of the sun will be sevenfold, As the light of seven days, In the day that the LORD binds up the bruise of His people And heals the stroke of their wound.
30:27 Behold, the name of the LORD comes from afar, Burning [with] His anger, And [His] burden [is] heavy; His lips are full of indignation, And His tongue like a devouring fire.
30:28 His breath is like an overflowing stream, Which reaches up to the neck, To sift the nations with the sieve of futility; And [there shall be] a bridle in the jaws of the people, Causing [them] to err.
30:29 You shall have a song As in the night [when] a holy festival is kept, And gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute, To come into the mountain of the LORD, To the Mighty One of Israel.
30:30 The LORD will cause His glorious voice to be heard, And show the descent of His arm, With the indignation of [His] anger And the flame of a devouring fire, [With] scattering, tempest, and hailstones.
30:31 For through the voice of the LORD Assyria will be beaten down, [As] He strikes with the rod.
30:32 And [in] every place where the staff of punishment passes, Which the LORD lays on him, [It] will be with tambourines and harps; And in battles of brandishing He will fight with it.
30:33 For Tophet [was] established of old, Yes, for the king it is prepared. He has made [it] deep and large; Its pyre [is] fire with much wood; The breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, Kindles it.
