Keturunan Esau
36:1 Inilah keturunan Esau, yaitu Edom.
36:2 Esau mengambil perempuan-perempuan Kanaan menjadi isterinya, yakni Ada, anak Elon orang Het, dan Oholibama, anak Ana anak Zibeon orang Hewi,
36:3 dan Basmat, anak Ismael, adik Nebayot.
36:4 Ada melahirkan Elifas bagi Esau, dan Basmat melahirkan Rehuel,
36:5 dan Oholibama melahirkan Yeush, Yaelam dan Korah. Itulah anak-anak Esau, yang lahir baginya di tanah Kanaan.
36:6 Esau membawa isteri-isterinya, anak-anaknya lelaki dan perempuan dan semua orang yang ada di rumahnya, ternaknya, segala hewannya dan segala harta bendanya yang telah diperolehnya di tanah Kanaan, lalu pergilah ia ke negeri lain dan ia meninggalkan Yakub, adiknya itu. 36:7 Sebab harta milik mereka terlalu banyak, sehingga mereka tidak dapat tinggal bersama-sama, dan negeri penumpangan mereka tidak dapat memuat mereka karena banyaknya ternak mereka itu.
36:8 Maka menetaplah Esau di pegunungan Seir; Esau itulah Edom.
36:9 Inilah keturunan Esau, bapa orang Edom, di pegunungan Seir.
36:10 Nama anak-anaknya ialah: Elifas, anak Ada isteri Esau; Rehuel, anak Basmat isteri Esau.
36:11 Anak-anak Elifas ialah Teman, Omar, Zefo, Gaetam dan Kenas.
36:12 Timna adalah gundik Elifas anak Esau; ia melahirkan Amalek bagi Elifas. Itulah cucu-cucu Ada isteri Esau.
36:13 Inilah anak-anak Rehuel: Nahat, Zerah, Syama dan Miza. Itulah cucu-cucu Basmat isteri Esau.
36:14 Inilah anak-anak Oholibama, isteri Esau itu, anak Ana anak Zibeon; ia melahirkan bagi Esau: Yeush, Yaelam dan Korah.
36:15 Inilah kepala-kepala kaum bani Esau: keturunan Elifas anak sulung Esau, ialah kepala kaum Teman, kepala kaum Omar, kepala kaum Zefo, kepala kaum Kenas,
36:16 kepala kaum Korah, kepala kaum Gaetam dan kepala kaum Amalek; itulah kepala-kepala kaum Elifas di tanah Edom; itulah keturunan Ada.
36:17 Inilah keturunan Rehuel anak Esau: kepala kaum Nahat, kepala kaum Zerah, kepala kaum Syama dan kepala kaum Miza; itulah kepala-kepala kaum Rehuel di tanah Edom; itulah keturunan Basmat isteri Esau. 36:18 Inilah keturunan Oholibama isteri Esau: kepala kaum Yeush, kepala kaum Yaelam, kepala kaum Korah; itulah kepala-kepala kaum Oholibama, isteri Esau, anak Ana. 36:19 Itulah bani Esau, yakni Edom, dan itulah kepala-kepala kaum mereka. 36:20 Inilah anak-anak Seir, orang Hori, penduduk negeri itu: Lotan, Syobal, Zibeon, Ana,
36:21 Disyon, Ezer, Disyan; itulah kepala-kepala kaum orang Hori, anak-anak Seir, di tanah Edom.
36:22 Anak-anak Lotan ialah Hori dan Heman, dan saudara perempuan Lotan ialah Timna.
36:23 Inilah anak-anak Syobal: Alwan, Manahat, Ebal, Syefo dan Onam.
36:24 Inilah anak-anak Zibeon: Aya dan Ana; Ana inilah yang menemui mata-mata air panas di padang gurun, ketika ia sedang menggembalakan keledai Zibeon ayahnya itu.
36:25 Inilah anak-anak Ana: Disyon dan Oholibama anak perempuan Ana.
36:26 Inilah anak-anak Disyon: Hemdan, Esyban, Yitran dan Keran.
36:27 Inilah anak-anak Ezer: Bilhan, Zaawan dan Akan.
36:28 Inilah anak-anak Disyan: Us dan Aran. 36:29 Itulah kepala-kepala kaum orang Hori: kepala kaum Lotan, kepala kaum Syobal, kepala kaum Zibeon, kepala kaum Ana,
36:30 kepala kaum Disyon, kepala kaum Ezer dan kepala kaum Disyan; itulah kepala-kepala kaum orang Hori, kaum demi kaum, di tanah Seir. Raja-raja Edom 36:31 Inilah raja-raja yang memerintah di tanah Edom, sebelum ada seorang raja memerintah atas orang Israel. 36:32 Di Edom yang memerintah ialah Bela bin Beor dan kotanya bernama Dinhaba.
36:33 Setelah Bela mati, Yobab bin Zerah dari Bozra menjadi raja menggantikan dia. 36:34 Setelah Yobab mati, Husyam, dari negeri orang Teman, menjadi raja menggantikan dia. 36:35 Setelah Husyam mati, Hadad bin Bedad menjadi raja menggantikan dia; dialah yang memukul kalah orang Midian di daerah Moab, dan kotanya bernama Awit. 36:36 Setelah Hadad mati, Samla dari Masreka menjadi raja menggantikan dia. 36:37 Setelah Samla mati, Saul, dari Rehobot yang di pinggir sungai, menjadi raja menggantikan dia. 36:38 Setelah Saul mati, Baal-Hanan bin Akhbor menjadi raja menggantikan dia. 36:39 Setelah Baal-Hanan bin Akhbor mati, Hadar menjadi raja menggantikan dia; kotanya bernama Pahu dan isterinya bernama Mehetabeel binti Matred binti Mezahab.
36:40 Inilah nama kepala-kepala kaum Esau menurut kaum dan tempat mereka, dengan nama mereka masing-masing: kepala kaum Timna, kepala kaum Alwa, kepala kaum Yetet, 36:41 kepala kaum Oholibama, kepala kaum Ela, kepala kaum Pinon,
36:42 kepala kaum Kenas, kepala kaum Teman, kepala kaum Mibzar,
36:43 kepala kaum Magdiel dan kepala kaum Iram; itulah kepala-kepala kaum Edom, menurut tempat kediaman mereka di tanah milik mereka; Edom ialah Esau, bapa orang Edom.

For their substance was too great for them to dwell together, and the land of their travels couldn't bear them because of their livestock.

Esau lived in the hill country of Seir. Esau is Edom.

these are the names of Esau's sons: Eliphaz, the son of Adah, the wife of Esau; and Reuel, the son of Basemath, the wife of Esau.

The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, and Gatam, and Kenaz.

Timna was concubine to Eliphaz, Esau's son; and she bore to Eliphaz Amalek. These are the sons of Adah, Esau's wife.

These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. These were the sons of Basemath, Esau's wife.

These were the sons of Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah, the daughter of Zibeon, Esau's wife: she bore to Esau Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

These are the chiefs of the sons of Esau: the sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: chief Teman, chief Omar, chief Zepho, chief Kenaz,

chief Korah, chief Gatam, chief Amalek: these are the chiefs who came of Eliphaz in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Adah.

These are the sons of Reuel, Esau's son: chief Nahath, chief Zerah, chief Shammah, chief Mizzah: these are the chiefs who came of Reuel in the land of Edom; these are the sons of Basemath, Esau's wife.

These are the sons of Oholibamah, Esau's wife: chief Jeush, chief Jalam, chief Korah: these are the chiefs who came of Oholibamah the daughter of Anah, Esau's wife.

These are the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and these are their chiefs.

These are the sons of Seir the Horite, the inhabitants of the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,

Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. These are the chiefs who came of the Horites, the children of Seir in the land of Edom.

The children of Lotan were Hori and Heman. Lotan's sister was Timna.

These are the children of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.

These are the children of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness, as he fed the donkeys of Zibeon his father.

These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah.

These are the children of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

These are the children of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.

These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before any king reigned over the children of Israel.

Bela, the son of Beor, reigned in Edom. The name of his city was Dinhabah.
33

Bela died, and Jobab, the son of Zerah of Bozrah, reigned in his place.
34

Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
35

Husham died, and Hadad, the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place. The name of his city was Avith.
36

Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
37

Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the river, reigned in his place.
38

Shaul died, and Baal Hanan, the son of Achbor reigned in his place.
39

Baal Hanan the son of Achbor died, and Hadar reigned in his place. The name of his city was Pau. His wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.

These are the names of the chiefs who came from Esau, according to their families, after their places, and by their names: chief Timna, chief Alvah, chief Jetheth,

chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,

chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,

chief Magdiel, and chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom, according to their habitations in the land of their possession. This is Esau, the father of the Edomites.
