Doa mohon pertolongan melawan musuh
83:1 Mazmur Asaf: suatu nyanyian. (#83-#2) Ya Allah, janganlah Engkau bungkam, janganlah berdiam diri dan janganlah berpangku tangan, ya Allah! 83:2 (#83-#3) Sebab sesungguhnya musuh-musuh-Mu ribut, orang-orang yang membenci Engkau meninggikan kepala. 83:3 (#83-#4) Mereka mengadakan permufakatan licik melawan umat-Mu, dan mereka berunding untuk melawan orang-orang yang Kaulindungi. 83:4 (#83-#5) Kata mereka: "Marilah kita lenyapkan mereka sebagai bangsa, sehingga nama Israel tidak diingat lagi!" 83:5 (#83-#6) Sungguh, mereka telah berunding dengan satu hati, mereka telah mengadakan perjanjian melawan Engkau: 83:6 (#83-#7) Penghuni kemah-kemah Edom dan orang Ismael, Moab dan orang Hagar, 83:7 (#83-#8) Gebal dan Amon dan Amalek, Filistea beserta penduduk Tirus, 83:8 (#83-#9) juga Asyur telah bergabung dengan mereka, menjadi kaki tangan bani Lot. Sela 83:9 (#83-#10) Perlakukanlah mereka seperti Midian, seperti Sisera, seperti Yabin dekat sungai Kison, 83:10 (#83-#11) yang sudah dipunahkan di En-Dor, menjadi pupuk bagi tanah. 83:11 (#83-#12) Buatlah para pemuka mereka seperti Oreb dan Zeeb, seperti Zebah dan Salmuna semua pemimpin mereka, 83:12 (#83-#13) yang berkata: "Marilah kita menduduki tempat-tempat kediaman Allah!" 83:13 (#83-#14) Ya Allahku, buatlah mereka seperti dedak yang beterbangan, seperti jerami yang ditiup angin! 83:14 (#83-#15) Seperti api yang membakar hutan, dan seperti nyala api yang menghanguskan gunung-gunung, 83:15 (#83-#16) kejarlah mereka dengan badai-Mu, dan kejutkanlah mereka dengan puting beliung-Mu; 83:16 (#83-#17) penuhilah muka mereka dengan kehinaan, supaya mereka mencari nama-Mu, ya TUHAN! 83:17 (#83-#18) Biarlah mereka mendapat malu dan terkejut selama-lamanya; biarlah mereka tersipu-sipu dan binasa, 83:18 (#83-#19) supaya mereka tahu bahwa Engkau sajalah yang bernama TUHAN, Yang Mahatinggi atas seluruh bumi.

83:1 <> Do not keep silent, O God! Do not hold Your peace, And do not be still, O God!
83:2 For behold, Your enemies make a tumult; And those who hate You have lifted up their head.
83:3 They have taken crafty counsel against Your people, And consulted together against Your sheltered ones.
83:4 They have said, "Come, and let us cut them off from [being] a nation, That the name of Israel may be remembered no more."
83:5 For they have consulted together with one consent; They form a confederacy against You:
83:6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites; Moab and the Hagrites;
83:7 Gebal, Ammon, and Amalek; Philistia with the inhabitants of Tyre;
83:8 Assyria also has joined with them; They have helped the children of Lot. Selah
83:9 Deal with them as [with] Midian, As [with] Sisera, As [with] Jabin at the Brook Kishon,
83:10 Who perished at En Dor, [Who] became [as] refuse on the earth.
83:11 Make their nobles like Oreb and like Zeeb, Yes, all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
83:12 Who said, "Let us take for ourselves The pastures of God for a possession."
83:13 O my God, make them like the whirling dust, Like the chaff before the wind!
83:14 As the fire burns the woods, And as the flame sets the mountains on fire,
83:15 So pursue them with Your tempest, And frighten them with Your storm.
83:16 Fill their faces with shame, That they may seek Your name, O LORD.
83:17 Let them be confounded and dismayed forever; Yes, let them be put to shame and perish,
83:18 That they may know that You, whose name alone [is] the LORD, [Are] the Most High over all the earth.
